Sam’s mom Anne called me a few weeks ago to photograph her adorable little guy for his first birthday! Man oh man! This little dude stole my heart.
Not only were these photos taken in 100 degree heat… but Sam was full of smiles the whole time. I love those suspenders!

I drove to my next session last week with a smile on my face after photographing the Burke family. I can’t put my finger on why I was so smiley, but it could have been the sweet Burke boys that did it, or remembering hearing Dana reply to her husband, Mike… “you are!” when he asked her what her better side was. Seriously! How sweet was that!?
Dana is the co-founder of ABC Mom’s Inc.. I met her and her partner Jennifer Schuler, in 2009, when our (then) 3 year old was having issues not only adjusting to having a new brother in the house, but also with sensory processing.
I wouldn’t trade our quirky little Jason for the world… and I’m only happy I was able to give back to Dana’s family what she gave me in through one of my darkest days of motherhood. I can only hope that her lasting memory of me, is these precious moments of her own journey into motherhood with these sweet boys and her amazing husband.

Kaelie is a classmate of my daughter Nathalie and she is such a beauty. Emilie is a funny little gal with a sense of humor that is hard to resist. We scheduled their session for the end of May in downtown Plainfield only to find out that day that CRUISE NIGHTS started that night! (I thought is was the first Tuesday in June, but I was wrong!)
Due to the congestion on the main streets we made our way through town on the sly. Even though we had to think of creative ways to get through town, we got some amazing shots on roads less traveled that night!
